Skipping: A Simple and Free Solution for World Peace

Skipping is such a simple thing. When we think of skipping, we generally think of kids playing on the playground, laughing, smiling, and having fun. Have you ever seen someone skipping and not smiling? People are happy when they skip. Try it. Especially with friends. You probably will not be able to skip without smiling or even laughing. So with that introduction, here is my proposal for world peace.

Everyone needs to skip. If everyone skips, everyone is happy. If everyone is happy, no one is fighting. If no one is fighting, there is peace. Even if not everyone is able to skip, the happiness from the people skipping will be contagious. The world will be filled with joy and laughter.

Here is my challenge to you: Skip. Skip by yourself, or with friends. Skip outside, on your way to class or to the car. Skip down the hall to the bathroom or around the kitchen. See how skipping changes your mood and share this experience with others, encouraging them to do the same. Make skipping the norm. Make people who are not skipping, want to be a part of it. Make your own happiness contagious.

Mark Twain said: “Whoever is happy, will make others happy too.” This simple act of skipping will spread happiness and peace throughout the world.

I must give credit to a close friend of mine, Maddie, who inspired me with this idea many years ago.

  1. I couldn’t agree more that happy people make other people happy. And since happiness is what most people strive for in life, doing little things like skipping can make a huge difference. I guess everyone needs to find what makes them happy and run with it.
